The SFR 4208, what is it?
The SFR Cellular Interactions and Therapeutic Applications is essential to the Angevin site. It makes it possible to establish the development of research in biology on the Angers site, while promoting Angers representation with regional or national partners. Its missions are above all to ensure the pooling of the site's platforms, to promote exchanges between laboratories and to serve as a link between institutional partners (University of Angers, Inserm, CNRS, InVS, Region) and research laboratories.
More specifically, the SFR ICAT aims to:
- To federate research teams from different institutional partners around a collective scientific strategy while respecting their autonomy,
- Ensure the management of technological platforms,
- To develop and implement a scientific policy based on coherence and synergy between the various research units. This policy aims in particular to strengthen the visibility and readability of Angers research in biology and health,
- To ensure scientific animation,
- To define the investment policy for large appliances and to optimize the use of the technical and human resources of the platforms,
- To establish relationships with the local and regional fabric and facilitate interfaces between research teams and local and regional partners, including economic partnerships.
SFR 4208 is composed of health biology research teams from Angers, and is structured around three axes.
- Axis 1: Cardiovascular diseases and Dysmetabolism
Vascular and liver metabolic pathologies, mitochondrial and genetic diseases
- Axis 2: Nanomedicine and Biomaterials
Nanoparticles-based innovative therapies, bone tissue engineering
- Axis 3: Immunology, Infectiology and Cancerology
Innate immunity,
Buruli ulcer, fungal respiratory infections,
innovative treatments for glioblastoma, proteomics and tumour progression
- Emerging axis:
Ergonomics and epidemiology in occupational Health, back to work after cancer
